Spring 2015, ECS is pleased to announce the Passive Irrigation test of the EPIC system by the Department of Defense Presidio of Monterey.
The water conservation study evaluates a metered use of all irrigation water for the 10,000 square foot facility parade turf area and is expected to save over 1 million gallons per year compared to prior irrigation use.
The Army Corps of Engineers is particularly interested in observing stormwater capture and reuse via the EPIC system passive irrigation techniques; capillary rise in a washed sand profile.
Every drop of water that falls upon, or is directed to, the EPIC system will be captured and evapo-transpired by the turf.
